The time duration of the UGC NET exam is 3 hours. Both papers contain objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs). A total of 150 questions are given to the candidates combining paper 1 and paper 2. UGC NET exam does not have a negative marking scheme. The candidates are awarded for correct answers but no mark deductions are made for incorrect answers.

UGC NET June 2024 exam will be conducted in Offline mode (OMR Sheet). The medium of the UGC NET question paper is in English and Hindi languages only. The marking will also help the candidate to count the probable scores from the UGC NET provisional answer key that is released by the National Testing Agency (NTA): a) Correct answer: 2 b) Incorrect answer: No negative mark c) Unanswered/marked for review: 0 (no marks given) d) Incorrect or ambiguous question/has multiple correct answers: 2 to those who have chosen one of the correct answers. E) Incorrect or dropped questions: 2 to those who have attempted the question.
